Table Talk: Gaucho
Location: 2a St Mary's Street, Manchester
They say: "Visually stunning, decadent & opulent, incorporating two mezzanine areas and a bar offering the finest Argentinean wines, beers & cocktails"
Perfect for: Romantic dinners and special occasions.
Atmosphere: I went on a weekday dinner and it was fairly busy, although the mezzanine levels were closed. Relaxed but vibrant atmosphere, complemented by the music.
What we ordered:
- Ecuadorian Ceviche - Shrimp, roasted tomato and pepper sauce, onion and coriander
- Ceviche Sampler - Ecuadorian ceviche, scallop tiraditos, sea trout ceviche
- Chateaubriand - Centre cut of lomo, slow grilled
- Peppercorn Sauce
- Mixed Salad
- Sweet Potato Chips and Chorizo - Twice cooked with parsley
- Tenderstem Broccoli - Sauteed with chilli, soy and sesame seeds
- Chocolate and Raspberry Alfajores - Milk chocolate and raspberry parfait cake with Italian meringue and crushed raspberries
- Margaritas
- Pot of Saurus 2012 Pinot Noir
What I liked:
- The stunning decor (may be abit much for a vegetarian!) and restaurant layout.
- Fabulous food, cooked to perfection.
- Relaxed but attentive friendly service.
Overall: A beautiful elegantly cool restaurant, perfect to impress, with faultless food.
